Spline Processing

Spline connections are machine part joints created by splines arranged radially on the surface. They provide high strength, ensure coaxial alignment of the shaft and hole, and allow axial movement of the part along the shaft.
Spline Connections Are Classified By:
Spline (tooth) profile:
-
Straight-sided
-
Involute
Transmitted load:
-
Light series
-
Medium series
-
Heavy series
Centering method of mating parts:
-
The outer diameter of the teeth
-
The inner diameter of the teeth
-
The side surfaces of the teeth
STALVIA’s production facilities are equipped with specialized spline-cutting and spline-grinding machines, enabling the manufacture of all types of spline connections with consistent and reliable quality.
Spline milling is a vital and increasingly demanded area of metalworking, as the need for splined shafts continues to expand across industries. For high-tech equipment to operate productively and reliably, every component must be manufactured with maximum precision and quality.
The reliable performance of gearboxes depends directly on the accuracy of spline production.
Shaft and gear splines are centered either by the outer or inner diameter.

During heat treatment of shafts and gears, clearance at the centering diameter often exceeds the specified fit tolerance, making additional machining of the gear or shaft at the centering diameter and along the spline flanks necessary.
Finish grinding of splined shafts is an essential production stage that significantly affects the long-term performance of mechanisms.
Grinding of splined shafts is considered one of the most complex machining operations. STALVIA performs finish grinding of splined shafts to the seventh grade of accuracy with surface roughness Ra = 1.6 μm.
Our specialists have the competencies to provide a comprehensive solution for manufacturing spline connections, ensuring the required technological process, productivity, and quality.
Both the technology bureau and quality control department monitor operations at every stage and enforce quality standards consistently.
At our facilities, spline cutting is carried out on advanced equipment. This enables the rapid production of parts with precise parameters while maintaining superior quality. This approach is especially efficient and cost-effective for large-scale orders of identical parts.
